2011-2012 New In-Colors

2011-2012 In-Colors
I was so excited to start making something with the new in-colors that I forgot to say what they are!  So, 2011-2012 In-Colors are:  Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Island Indigo and Wisteria Wonder.  Now, when I first saw the new In-colors, I was a little skeptical about liking them.  But now that I have them in my hot little hands I can't wait to create cards and more with them!  Now, the 2010-2011 In-colors: Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz and Blissful Bride will be around for one more year.  It's so wonderful to have a foundation of colors and then 10 more colors to play with!

New Stampin' toys!

I was playing with my new stamp sets, new inks and accessories today.  It was fun to play around with my stamps and stuff just for fun.  Here's what I came up with:

Stamp set:  Pennant Parade
Card stock:  pink pirouette, soft suede, whisper white
ink:  soft suede
accessories:  wallpaper embossing folder, retired DSP, red riding hood button (retired), 1" punch, 3/4" punch,  hemp, sewing machine and thread, markers for cherries, cupcake punch, (embossing folder not SU!)
**In the first photo I wanted to show how I store my clear mounted stamps by reusing the part that you have to punch out the stamps in the first place.

Stamp set:  Fabulous Florets
card stock:  soft suede, whisper white, calypso coral, lucky limeade
ink:  lucky limeade, calypso coral
accessories:  decorative label punch, color spritzer tool, tulip border embossing folder, marker, dimensionals

June 2011 Card Class

Hello there, Stampin' Sisters!
Cards featured in June are varied and include themes of:  Father's Day, Golf, birthday, baby and more.   You may sign up to make 7 cards!

We will meet on Thursday, June 16, 2011, at my place.   However, I will hold a class on Thursday, June 9, for those making Father's Day cards.  Just let me know which date you'll be coming.   In an attempt to streamline the class, I would like to have two time slots: 7-8 pm and 8-9 pm with 6-7 people per time slot.   I do my best to design the cards to optimally be made in10 minutes or less per card.  *Note: patterned paper will vary.

Oh, please, bring: Adhesive (like tape runner and/or double sided tape), scissors, and a bone folder.     I may have a couple of tape runners and a couple of double sided tape dispensers for purchase @ $1.25,  in case you need to purchase one.  (A note about the tape runners:  it could last one card night or more.  It depends on how much you use on each card.  I generally apply adhesive to the corners only, and if the piece is long, I add a bit more to the middle part.)    Please, pre-pay the $5 class materials fee.  : )

** If it turns out that you can't make your cards, please try to find a stamp buddy to help you stamp your cards and assemble, too, if you choose.

*** Occasionally, I hold a second or make-up card class determined on an "as needed" basis.

I enjoy leading the card class and love to see your creativity, smiles and friendship blooming!

Simple & Quick Ornament

A quick, simple and personalized ornament for you!  All you need is a circle cutter, round tab punch, hole punch, stamp, ink and a photo to complete the project.  I did put acetate over the photo, but that's optional.  Do you like it?

Christmas cards galore!

We made Christmas cards galore here!  It was lots of fun and I was busy every moment with stampin' sisters coming from 1 pm until 10 pm.  All together over 140 cards were created here!  Everyone is so sweet, creative and wonderful!

Artist? Me?

During the week of Oct. 15-Oct. 18, I was asked by 5 different people if I was an artist.  Earlier in the week, I decorated tables for our Relief Society dinner and fireside.  Later on in the week a lady saw me drawing out layouts for Christmas cards and asked me if I was a graphic artist.  I said I wasn't an artist, but that my dad is!   I told my Mom about the comments I got.  I thought if I were an artist I'd have to take classes, at least.  She said I could consider myself an artist just because I do artistic things.  She also said that lots of people don't take classes and consider themselves artists.  Hmm, that made me feel good.  Then I talked to my dad about the artist questions and the compliments I got.  My dad gave me the biggest compliment of all.  He said, "You can tell them you're more than a graphic artist, you're a graphic designer."  Ooooh....wow!  I don't know if the head swell has gone down yet!  LOL!
