October Card Class

October 19, 2011

Hello there, Stampin' Sisters! Card choices featured in September are:
birthday, thank you , sympathy and blank.   You may sign up to make 7 cards!

We will meet on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at my place.      In an attempt to streamline the class, I would like to have three time slots: 1)  10-11:15 AM
2) 7-8:15 PM
3) 8:15-9:30 pm
with 5-7 people per time slot.   I do my best to design the cards to optimally be made in 6 minutes or less per card.    When you look at the cards, note that I added some notes on how to make the card.  Bolded words under the card image denote the technique used.  *Note: patterned paper will vary.

Oh, please, bring: Adhesives (like tape runner and/or double sided tape), scissors, and a bone folder.     I may have a couple of tape runners and a couple of double sided tape dispensers for purchase @ $1.25,  in case you need to purchase one.  (A note about the tape runners:  it could last one card night or more.  It depends on how much you use on each card.  I generally apply adhesive to the corners only, and if the piece is long, I add a bit more to the middle part.)    Please, pre-pay the $5 class materials fee.  : )

***Types of really helpful adhesives:  tape runner, double sided tape, red liner tape, glue dots, herma fix, and clear glue sticks.
** If it turns out that you can't make your cards, please try to find a stamp buddy to help you stamp your cards and assemble, too, if you choose.

*Occasionally, I hold a second or make-up card class determined on an "as needed" basis.

I enjoy leading the card class and love to see your creativity, smiles and friendship blooming!

stamp light colors first; stamp off yellow leaf in center first
sponge orange ink for background; stamp bird, then punch out in circle

water color look with Two step stamping; color and petals don't need to match up;  stamp the  sentiment, stamp on the branches, then punch out with wide oval punch; glue dots or red liner tape helpful with ribbon or lace
stamp background, then use modern label punch  for  stem.  Adhere to card, then add ovals to make pumpkin.  Add hemp tie with a glue dot.
Use embossing folder and white crayon (crayon resist)  to create spider web.  Use brayer in orange ink to apply color.  Stamp the image and water color with aqua pen and water color crayons.

To stamp the balloons, use the balloon mask provided, then add sentiment
Use small red  brayer  on kaleidacolor ink pad to make background.  Only use the green on the bottom of card.  Stamp owl on gray, punch out with owl punch.  Stamp treat bag onto only orange card stock, and cut out by hand. Cut out pre-traced tree.  Punch out large circle for moon.  Adhere moon, then tree, then owl.
Ink up the jumbo wheel 3-4 times in pumpkin pie ink and then  roll stamp onto  card stock.  Using a narrow strip of natural card stock, gently tear down the middle to make a natural frame for your word strip.
Using chocolate chip ink, stamp the middle leaf first, then the two side leaves.  Using the appropriately marked sponge, sponge on ink colors:  morning marigold, purely pomegranate and soft suede.  Opt: punch out the double dotted border in more mustard card stock.
